Sarah Kenney, P.Eng. Founder

Sarah Kenney, P.Eng., EDM-F (formerly Sarah Simons) is a graduate of Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering.  She began her career in a branch of nuclear safety and then moved into risk management and into the small and niche world of amusement ride regulation.   As a result, Sarah is a NAARSO Level II ride inspector.  Her career led her to a role as Registration Engineer at TSSA and then eventually an elevating an amusement device inspector for TSSA.   She is also a QEI certified elevator inspector and holds an Elevating Device Mechanic – Class F.   After spending a few years managing elevator modernizations, she started Kenney Engineering, in recognition of her family name and their multi-generation history of engineers.    Kenney Engineering was created with the intention of serving Ontario’s elevator contractors.   Sarah has extensive experience with regulation, code compliance and inspections.

David Witt, P.Eng. Senior Engineer

David Witt, P.Eng., EDM-F is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a bachelor of applied science in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 30 years of engineering experience split between Material Handling Equipment Manufacturing and Elevator Manufacturing and Regulation. His engineering background includes both mechanical and electrical design. David was both a Registration Engineer and a Regional Supervisor for TSSA in the Elevating Device program. He is a QEI certified elevator inspector and holds an Elevating Device Mechanic – Class F certification. David is a member of several ASME committees including the Hoistway, Emergency Operations and the Dumbwaiter and ATD committees.
